Domestic Violence Prevention TrainingExciting news! On March 18th and 19th, 2010, the Springfield Police Department in collaboration with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety-Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Initiative will present, Detective Lt. Mark Wynn (Retired), of Wynn Consulting in Nashville Tennessee. He will provide training, at no cost to you or your agency. This two day training will be held at Springfield Technical Community College (STCC), 1 Armory Square, Springfield, MA, Building # 2 (Scibelli Hall), 7th floor. (A continental breakfast and working lunch will be provided). Registration closes on March 16th, 2010 Mark Wynn is a national trainer to police executives, patrol officers, training officers, prosecutors, judges, legislators, social service providers, healthcare professionals and victim advocates. He has acted as a key advisor to state, national and international leaders helping guide law and policy on the issue of domestic and sexual violence prevention. He is a key creator of the largest domestic violence investigative unit in the United States. A survivor, enabling him to teach both effectively and passionately, Mark Wynn continues to be devoted to ending family violence as a consultant and advisor as he was as a police officer, detective and investigator. This training is for: Police Officers, whose work has as much to do with crime prevention and community services as it does with enforcing laws; Prosecutors, court staff, probation, parole and community corrections staff, whose work has as much to do with public safety as it does with the administration of justice; Domestic violence service providers; victim’s advocates, social workers, human service professionals, health care providers, educators, clergy and anyone else to whom domestic violence victim/survivors turn for help.
